Radio 90.9 FM, 1971 W. North Temple Solar PV panels to provide power backup and assist in lowering power bills |
| System description: KRCL managers felt it important to "practice what we preach." The station advocates conservation and renewable energies through public announcements; now it walks that talk with the addition of a 12-panel solar power system. This grid-tied system will contribute to the station's power usage. More importantly, it will keep the station on-air during power blackouts, by using power from a large battery bank that are kept filled by the sun. | m | |||
