Roscoe home, 9292 Kelley Drive, Huntsville Solar heated outdoors pool; panels contribute to domestic hot water, radiant heat |
| System description: This system was installed in early spring 2002 because Art could only use this pool two or three months out of the year in its high location, on the foothills east of Huntsville. After the first couple weeks of operation, the pool temperature hit 90 degrees. Art's system consists of six 4'x10' flat-plate Gobi hot water panels. Art would like to extend this system and send the heat into his home's heating system during the wintertime when the pool is not swimmable. | ||

The pool's cover helps store the heat in the water. It's a large pool, and keeps his kids and grandkids happy. | |

The rack was custom built to accommodate the
six panels on a hillside above and behind the home, where they are not
easily seen.
