Child home, 1866 Pleasant View Drive, Pleasant View Net-metering system using 11 150-watt solar power panels, solar hot water system |
| System description: "Simple grid-tied power maker" describes this system. The power system, which takes advantage of Utah's new net-metering law, is made up of only three components: the panels, the inverter and a fuse disconnect. The panels are 150-watt, 24V multicrystalline, made by British Power. How much power does this system produce? Go see Heber on the 5th, and he'll tell you. | m | ||

The Sunny Boy inverter is made by the German company, SMA. It's one of only a handful of grid-tied inverters on the market, and the product that most simplifies this type of installation. To the left of the inverter is the disconnect switch. Below, Heber shows off his system. He made the solar choice because of his desire for self-sufficiency, and concern about the environment. | ||
